My name is Ayelén Miwszuk. I'm a 22-year-old teacher who graduated last year from a Teacher Training College in Escobar, Buenos Aires. My passion in this field bagan about 7 years ago, when volunteering for a NEP chain, located in my home town. We worked with a group of professionals in helping the community in our neighbourhood by providing personal tuition for students who were not doing well at school and were about to drop out the educational system. There wasn't an english teacher available, so with my limited knowledge of both the language and the challenge I was about to face, I accepted and set out this life journey.
That experience showed me the exciting ways of teaching, but also I became aware of the responsibilities that were lying on my back. I think that a teacher should never stop learning and that is the reason why I am here. I want to grow as a professional. I want to have more tools to provide my students with as a unique and enriching experience of learning as I am capable of.
I read in the introductory unit that this community is for teachers who want to continue developing professionally and I definitely want to become an active member of that community. I hope this course will help me to achieve it.
Thanks for reading.
